在多年的雅思寫作和閱讀教學中，筆者發(fā)現(xiàn)學生在備考中很容易出現(xiàn)誤區(qū)：比如在做閱讀題目時，喜歡一字不差地讀句子，生怕自己因錯過了信息而做錯題目；在寫作時，因為沒有思路，不會寫相關詞匯，寫不出完整內(nèi)容，考了幾次雅思卻總是刷不到理想分數(shù)。
這樣不僅浪費了自己的寶貴時間，也很容易因沒有科學有效的方法而停滯不前。其實雅思四個科目都是相輔相成的，學好寫作脫離不了閱讀的幫助。
在引入寫作之前，筆者先說一下閱讀：
怎樣才能快速抓住文章的主要信息呢？主要是要劃準關鍵詞Key Words 和做減法。
雅思閱讀中最基礎也是比較重要的技巧是Skimming略讀，避免精讀每一個單詞。
要將很長的復合句劃分成較短、較簡單的結(jié)構成分。
提高閱讀速度的方法之一是：搜索句子的主干結(jié)構，即主謂賓，關系從句和表語從句通?？陕赃^。
舉個栗子：
In the past, land scoured away from the coastline by the currents of the Mediterranean Sea used to be replaced by sediment brought down to the delta by the River Nile.
這是劍橋真題里的一篇文章，上過雅思課的學生應該對這篇尼羅河的文章很熟悉。文中摻雜了相關的專業(yè)詞匯，比如 currents ,Mediterranean Sea, sediment ,delta ,River Nile。對于初步了解雅思并且單詞量不高的學生來說，要快速讀懂這句話，這無疑是比較痛苦的。
那我們來引用前文提到的減法練習一下：
Land scoured away from the coastline by the currents of the Mediterranean Sea used to be replaced by sediment brought down to the delta by the River Nile.
抓住主謂賓主體結(jié)構，去掉修飾成分，這句話成為"land used to be replaced by sediment "

那么寫作又是怎么回事呢？
閱讀做減法，寫作就做加法！
使用剛才的化簡句子：
Land used to be replaced by sediment
土地經(jīng)常被沉積物填補。
在真實雅思寫作考場上，寫這樣的句子難免會讓考官感到疑惑，什么樣的土地？誰的沉積物，為什么要被補充？
我們來看一下真實的原文：
Land scoured away from the coastline by the currents of the Mediterranean Sea （后置定語，由地中海沿岸洋流沖刷的 used to be replaced by sediment brought down to the delta by the River Nile. （后置定語，由尼羅河帶到三角洲的）
文章在主語和賓語后面都加入了后置定語，讓這句話的語義更完整，思路更清晰。我們在寫作的時候盡量把內(nèi)容前后和因果關系寫具體，富有邏輯，這樣段落內(nèi)容才完整，整個篇目也就更連貫。
林老師給大家來舉個栗子：
中文：人們不同意這個觀點。
英文該怎樣拓展？
以下給大家提供了五種方式，你傾向哪一種呢？
A. People disagree with this idea.
B. People disagree with this idea and express their own distinct thoughts.
C. People disagree with this idea that the government should spend more money on the arts and sports.
D. This idea is disagreed by those who claim that the government should spend more money on healthcare and education.
